PAUSD Parent Information Session on IEPs & 504 plans – SMART Goals

This session is the second in a series for parents whose children receive support under an IEP (Individualized Education Program) or 504 plan. Presented by PAUSD staff, including Director of Special Education Chiara Perry, Director of Student Services Brenda Carrillo, and Coordinator of Student Services Lissette Moore-Guerra. The first session provided an overview of IEPs and 504s. Come learn and have questions answered. Session 2 focuses on goal setting, and working with your IEP team to set smart goals. New Laws Affecting Immunizations Start In January

New Law (SB 277) Effective in 2016
Governor Brown signed Senate Bill (SB) 277 on June 30, 2015. Starting in 2016, SB 277:
Will no longer permit immunization exemptions based on personal beliefs for children in child care and public and private schools;

PAUSD will celebrate Unity Day 2015 to promote kindness, acceptance and inclusion in our school communities. Each school will participate in its own way, so find out what your school is doing. Join us in building a united voice of respect, WEAR ORANGE on Wednesday, October 21st!
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Awareness events are sponsored by PAUSD, Palo Alto Council of PTAs, the Palo Alto CAC of SELPA 1, Parent Advocates for Student Success (PASS), and the LGBTQ Committee.
