PAUSD Parent Information Session on IEPs & 504 plans – SMART Goals

This session is the second in a series for parents whose children receive support under an IEP (Individualized Education Program) or 504 plan. Presented by PAUSD staff, including Director of Special Education Chiara Perry, Director of Student Services Brenda Carrillo, and Coordinator of Student Services Lissette Moore-Guerra. The first session provided an overview of IEPs and 504s. Come learn and have questions answered. Session 2 focuses on goal setting, and working with your IEP team to set smart goals. Sixth Annual MLK Jr. Family Day of Service

Join YCS and its partners in celebrating the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. and his teachings on community and service. This annual event includes speakers; local youth performing groups including hip hop music, dance, and poetry; activity tables; a children’s reading corner and art projects; face painting; and information about local service opportunities. Food trucks will be present as well as local vendors selling crafts, clothing, and jewelry.  Student volunteer opportunities are also available.

New Laws Affecting Immunizations Start In January

New Law (SB 277) Effective in 2016
Governor Brown signed Senate Bill (SB) 277 on June 30, 2015. Starting in 2016, SB 277:
Will no longer permit immunization exemptions based on personal beliefs for children in child care and public and private schools;
